Our ASF Virus Initiative
This is an initiative of PGC Mindanao in collaboration with the Davao City Veterinarian’s Office to serve the local community amidst livestock crisis.

With the continuing ASF incidences in several areas of Region XI, continued access to surveillance tools such as capable testing centers for ASF detection through RT-PCR is a necessity.

Thus, through the MOA between Department of Agriculture RFO XI, Hog Farmers of Davao, Inc. (HogFADI) and UP Mindanao Philippine Genome Center Mindanao last June 2020, processing of samples for ASF virus detection vial Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) has been accommodated, thus allowing fast track of the response in managing, containing and controlling of the ASF diseases and facilitate food supply to areas in need of pork products from ASF-free certified hog farms.
